Susan Billeaud is an attorney practicing in Georgia who is also licensed but inactive in Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. After receiving her juris doctorate, cum laude, in 2000, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, Susan began her practice as an admiralty defense litigator in Lafayette, Louisiana. She then transitioned into her own business transaction and commercial litigation boutique practice, dedicated to serving small- and mid-size enterprises.
Susan’s favorite part of litigation practice has always been brief writing, however. And it shows. She has written successful briefs to accompany summary judgment motions, appeals, and petitions, beginning with her first winning summary judgment brief written as a second year law clerk. In 2009, she began ghost writing briefs for other litigators as well.
Whether her briefs were submitted to courts in Civil Code or common law jurisdictions, during litigation or on appeal, Susan’s attention to detail, strong research skills, and conversational writing style have helped her provide a solid foundation for decisions favorable to her clients. While not every case can be won on appeal, Susan always endeavors to give her clients’ briefs the very best chance of success!
